ASSISTANT INTERIOR DESIGNER
DESCRIPTION:
Assistant Interior Designer - Ruby and Company
Primary Location: Davenport, Iowa
Function: Assist Interior Designers
Title: Assistant Interior Designer
Onsite/Remote: Onsite Position
Responsibilities:
The Assistant Interior Designer will be responsible for assisting the interior designer in managing a caseload of design projects from initiation through completion. This will include but not necessarily be limited to the following:
- Lead generation, via both team marketing activities and personal networking and marketing.
- Relationship-building with clients and potential clients.
- Execution of projects to include evaluation of client needs, development of design plan, selling of the design plan, ordering and installation of products, and client follow-up.
Skills:
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following skills:
- Design theory, scale, proportion, balance, color, style and basic history of design and trends. Must be able to use an architect’s scale, read blue prints, and be proficient with a measuring tape.
- At least basic knowledge of the design, construction, and specification of interior furnishings products, including furniture, window coverings, floor coverings, wall coverings, lighting and accessories.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications.
- At least basic knowledge of client psychology and the sales process.
- Excellent written and verbal presentation skills to communicate effectively.
- Technical and digital skills.
- Familiarity with space planning, finish selections, textiles and furnishings.
- Efficiency and organization, detail oriented, ability to manage own time.
- Highly organized and can adjust to multiple and changing priorities.
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously in various stages of development and maintain an organized process without issues.
- Good organizational and communication skills.
- Demonstrate decisiveness and accountability, clear judgment and creative problem-solving abilities.
- Easy-going, but proactive with the ability to handle deadlines under pressure.
- Knowledge of design principles, requirements, construction methods and materials for high end environments.
- Develop and maintain client relationships.
- Work well with others to create and present presentation boards.
- Provide design support during execution of design concepts.
- Assist with installations and deliveries.
- Proficient with time management and scheduling with other designers, vendors, subcontractors, Etc.
- Resourceful, self-motivated, enthusiastic team player.

Education:
Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in one of the following:
- Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design or a related field.
SENIOR INTERIOR DESIGNER- 5+ YEARS EXPERIENCE

Title: Senior Interior Designer

Responsibilities:
As a Senior Interior Designer at Ruby and Company, you will be at the forefront of designing captivating spaces and bringing creative visions to life. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading the design team in conceptualizing and executing innovative interior design solutions for residential and commercial projects.
- Collaborating with clients to understand their needs, preferences, and design objectives to create personalized and functional spaces.
- Conducting space planning, material selection, and furniture layouts to optimize aesthetics and functionality.
- Developing detailed design plans, mood boards, and 3D visualizations to present to clients for approval.
- Managing project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively to ensure successful project delivery.
- Overseeing the coordination of construction documentation, drawings, and specifications to meet industry standards and regulations.
- Conducting on-site visits and inspections to monitor project progress, quality, and adherence to design intent.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
- Inspiring and mentoring junior designers, fostering a collaborative and creative team environment.

Skills:
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following skills:
- Minimum of 5 years of proven interior design experience.
- Proficiency in CAD software and efficient use of the architect scale.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft applications for design presentations and communication.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey design concepts and ideas.
